Gardening is a fun activity despite the errors made in the process. Growing tomatoes may appear easy. Well, it is not as easy as it appears. There are some tips and tricks that will help farmers produce large quantities and healthy tomatoes.
Easy steps to growing high-yield tomatoes
⦁ For starters, get the best quality of tomatoes. If you are not sure, talk to a local agricultural expert.
⦁ Lay the plants side the side.
⦁ During planting, lay the tomatoes in a trench. Three inches should be left uncovered on the top.
⦁ Use a quarter cup of slow releasing fertilizer to the plants.
⦁ For each plant, erect a cage. The measurements should be approximately five feet tall and two feet diameter.
⦁ Cover the erect cages with floating row covers. It should offer wind protection to the plant.
⦁ Fertilize the tomatoes weekly using a hose-end applicator directly to the leaves.
⦁ Use 2-3 teaspoons of ammonium sulfate for side dressing after the first yield. Water them later.
⦁ Pick the tomatoes while they are 30 percent ripe before the birds devour them.
⦁ Tomatoes should not be refrigerated.
